Become a Member

Membership of the Cootharaba Community Association consists of several classes: ordinary members, youth members, life members and honorary members.

The application process

Membership applications are considered by the Management Committee at the next MC meeting following receipt of a signed application form. You will receive an email once your application is approved. The annual membership fee must then be paid to finalise your membership. Please see conditions for ordinary members below.

  • Complete the New Member Application Form. You will need a proposer and a seconder (current members of CCA), who must also sign the form.
  • Scan the completed, signed form and upload it to this website (below).
  • Alternatively, you can submit the form in person to a member of the Management Committee.

Ordinary members

Ordinary members must:

  • have six months standing as a member before voting rights acrue
  • own property in the area or be on the electoral role for the area, or satisfy the Management Committee that they have a genuine interest in the welfare of the Cootharaba community
  • support the objectives of the association.

Youth members

Youth members must:

  • be under 18 years of age
  • reside with an ordinary or life member of the association, or satisfy the Management Committee that they have a genuine interest in the welfare of the Cootharaba community
  • support the objectives of the association.

Life members

A Life Member must be an ordinary member who has rendered outstanding or exemplary service to the Cootharaba Community Association.

Life members are not required to pay annual membership fees and maintain all rights and privileges of ordinary membership. Life members are appointed by resolution of the Management Committee.

Note: There may not be more than 5 life members at any one time.

Honorary members

An honorary member must be an individual who is not a member of the CCA, who has rendered outstanding or exemplary service to the association or the community. Honorary members are appointed by resolution of the Management Committee. Honorary members may not vote and are not eligible for election to the Management Committee.
