CCA is calling for community feedback on a proposal to install public outdoor exercise equipment in the local area. The initiative would see the installation of fitness facilities similar to those found at the popular Gympie Rotary Exercise Park [PDF].
CCA is seeking to establish the level of support for the proposal throughout the community, before seeking approval from NSC.
Local MP Sandy Bolton has lodged a Question on Notice in Parliament ↗️ regarding G'Day's acquisition of Elanda Ecocamp. The question was submitted during the most recent parliamentary sitting, with the Minister required to provide a response within 30 days. The response will be tabled in Parliament and made publicly available.
CCA has secured a commitment from Federal Member for Wide Bay, Llew O’Brien MP, to escalate local telecommunications grievances directly to the Federal Government. Following advocacy from the CCA and data from a recent Telecommunications Blackspot survey, Mr O'Brien confirmed he will formally write to the Minister for Communications in relation to the lack of mobile coverage in the area and the urgent need for additional funding to improve telecommunications in parts of Wide Bay
